My prices are centered in Gifting and Gift Economics
What is Gift Economics?
I seek to operate my practice within the principles of The Gift, or Gift Economics. In a gift economy, goods and services are not “sold” in a marketplace as we are traditionally accustomed. Instead, goods and services are seen as byproducts of our inherent gifts, and are therefore intended to be given and shared freely for the betterment of earth and humanity.
Because I see my skills and talents as gifts meant to be shared, I wish to offer them to help as many people as possible. That said, however, we still live in a world largely built upon capitalistic market economies. This means we still need traditional money to live and function in many ways. While I yearn for and dream of a world where we can be fully immersed in a gift economy, for now, I have structured my pricing with a blend of both gift and market economics.
Gift does not equal free
Free things either have no value, or they are intended to hook you into purchasing something more. They are not genuine gifts.
A gift is priceless. The value will vary from person to person depending on their circumstances and where they are in their life journey.
In a gift economy, I give and offer my skills, knowledge, and time, and then trust the receivers will generously give back in return. So, while I either price my services minimally or offer other content purely as a gift, I ask, and trust, that my clients and those who benefit from my work will find value and wish to give back monetarily with an amount that aligns with their personal story and circumstances.
How my Pricing Works
Online Courses & Workshops - Offered via The Gift (participants will be given the chance to give back to support my work and my business).
Coaching Programs - Priced minimally in order to keep my gifts accessible to as many as possible. Clients will be given the opportunity to give more beyond the base prices according to the value they received and in accordance with their personal circumstances.
Scholarships - Even with minimal pricing for my coaching services, I recognize there are still people who do not live in circumstances to afford them. As a result, I offer a small number of coaching scholarships to disabled persons and members of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities who may not be in a position to afford my base coaching rates.
